Good evening Little ones! How have you been the past few days? I've been diving into my Marketing course and I've been loving it. That being said, I've had to be extremely organised, which isn't an issue for myself, simply because I suffer with OCD, which means that everything has it's own place. But it's not just about that, it's finding the time between your studies and your personal life. Take this blog post as a help guide for starting University :).
If  you want tips and tricks on how to shuffle time around give this a little read.

Hit the ground running on day one:

  • You will hear this constantly, even if you aren't at University, but if you want to be successful in your studies, or anywhere for that matter you NEED to start from day one. I have always done that, when I was at School, starting new jobs, and now that I'm at University I will be doing the same ... And I have been! For example, I was set my first assignment and it's due in for the 4th November ... I've already done most of my research, referenced and planned my essay. All I have to do now, is a bit more research, referencing and actually write my essay; which is what I aim to do this week. That may sound a bit excessive for some of you, but in order to stay in the game you have to put the work in; even if it means doing assignments weeks before they are due in.
  • In addition to this, do extra reading around your course, it doesn't hurt to know more information; if anything it will make life easier for you in the long-run. You will not be judged for being "the smart one". If anything you will be respected, simply because you know what you are talking about, believe it or not you are looked down on if you don't know what to do. Simply because you are at University now, you should know what to do, as you've chosen to do a degree on it.
  • Get on your teachers good side. Yes you may think, 'kissing their butt', but if you scratch their back they will scratch yours. In other words, if you are late to lectures, they won't mind. If you have good reasons, and if they know you personally they'll let it slide. Whereas if you don't treat them with respect, then why should they? If you don't do your work, turn up late all the time, and interrupt the learning of others; then they will simply kick you out; as you are a waist of their time.

Be organised:

I can't stress enough how organised you have to be, especially at University. It's not Sixth form or college, they aren't as lenient. If you miss a deadline that is it, no excuses will work! My teachers have told me and they have given me real life examples, so please stay organised Little ones. Some ways in which you can do this is by:
  • Get a weekly planner, I have one by knock knock which is amazing! It enables me to plan out my week, so I don't miss any deadlines, and I know what I can and can't do throughout the week. This is fantastic for University, it lets you organised your personal and work life without it clashing together and getting too much.
  • Do your work as soon as you get it! This is what I have always done and I have never looked back. It may sound annoying at first, but at least it is over and done with and you don't have to worry about it at all. This gives you more time to do research, have a social life, or have time for your hobbies, mine being my blog :).
  • Get in a group with you friends, organise a study session. This way you can be with the people you love, as well as doing the work. Some times tasks can seem daunting, take that stress away and be with your friends. That way you are still staying on top with your University work and you are with your friends at the same time.
Little ones this is now the end of the blog post, but don't fear I will be back tomorrow with a product review! I think you will really enjoy that one :).
I hope you have had a lovely day today, I know that I have, I really enjoyed work, and I'm now back at my studio apartment with Chris :), can't wait to snuggle up to him tonight.
Any who, sleep tight! Stay safe and stay tuned Little ones :) x x x
