ADVICE | STARTING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL IN 2018 ... DARK TRUTH

DEAR YOUTUBE ... YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED

Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com
YOUTUBE: MissRoseMcGuire

Good morning Little ones ... Today isn't all sunshine and rainbows, I was smacked in the face with a cold reality, in the name of YouTube. I don't know how this is going to be structured, but what I do know, is that if you are a small creator like myself, PLEASE don't give up. Spread your voice and be heard, if we work together we can make a real difference.
If you don't want to read this, my video will be embedded below, we need to spread this message as quickly as possible.
After you are done reading, or watching, share what you can ... PLEASE.

YOUTUBE NEW MONETIZATION GUIDELINES:

2018 is the year for change, positivity, and better content.
If you don't know already, YouTube implimented a new monitzation strategy to, "allow us to significantly improve our ability to identify creators who contribute positively to the community and help drive more ad revenue to them, (and away from bad actors). These higher standards will also help us prevent potentially inappropriate videos from monetizing which can hurt revenue for everyone". [1 Abhimanyu Ghoshal, (2018)]
Sounds promising right? When my fiance informed me of the new guidelines, I was shoot down ... It's not until you come face to face with YouTubes guidelines, where it deprives you all of: hope, determination and pleasure.
In order for you to be considered for YouTube's programme, you need to have "4000 hours of annual viewing, and over 1000 subscribers" [2 Chris Welch, (2018)]
My initial reaction was, hell no, that's never going to happen ... I was giving YouTube what they wanted, I was crumbling down into nothing and keeping the rich richer.
I was absolutely devastated, their old monetization guideline was to, gain "10,000 lifetime views on their channel" [3 Ben Popper, (2017)], within my year on YouTube I was able to obtain 9,140 lifetime views, I was so close to the 10,000 mark ... And YouTube took it away, and has made it even harder to get where you want to be and achieve your dreams and ambitions.
Lucky enough for me, I was getting paid in the first place, I was never robbed from paying my bills, but for some small creators that's not the case. If they din't obtain 4000 hours in a year, they are automatically taken off the YouTube programme until they met the requirements.
What do they care if you have a mortgage to pay? In the famous words of ricegum, "you're irrelevant". But I thought that YouTube wanted a positive community? That's what it used to be, a content place where anyone in the world, of any diversity, could have a safe place where they could be who they wanted to be.
But it's a number obsessed environment, if you don't have the numbers, no matter if your content is positive, or fantastic; you don't belong here. Meaning that you you aren't as cool as Logan Paul for uploading a video of a dead body ... Nice standards, you can't sit with us.
I'm not the only one that thinks this way, my favourite YouTuber Lindy Tsang, also known as Bubzbeauty and Bubzvlogz, has over 3 million subscribers, I've been watching her since her quirky hair tutorials. In her opinion, "YouTube is just such a different place now, compared to how it used to be 10 years ago, used to be a place where people could share their daily thoughts, it's got to a very extreme place, a lot of the content creators have lost their human sense for adsence". [4 bubzbeauty, (2018)]
And you know what, I couldn't agree with her more, and that's not me kissing her ass, I feel like what she is saying is utterly true ... Hence the Logan Paul video. Why should you feel the need to be so disrespectful to another human being? What on earth they did they do, and what on earth did the family do, to deserve such treatment? For views? Fame? Well, very well done, you've disdained what used to be an amazing community.
Lastly on this disgusting new improved guideline, YouTube say that their aim is to, "prevent potentially inappropriate videos from monetizing" ... But, weren't you already doing that? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a content creator was to swear, or film something inappropriate, you would automatically detect this action and demonitize it? Hence pewdiepies ongoing jokes about how he should become a Christian channel so he can get paid.
But YouTube, if you were already doing this, why would you need to highlight this action in your new scheme of plans, doesn't make sense. But it's a pathetic excuse if you ask me. It just goes to show how you don't not only care about your consumers, but your original content creators and the "community".

STARTING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL IN 2018:

Now, some of you probably have separate opinions, which go along the lines of, 'why should I produce content, for such a repulsive company, or 'YouTube have made it near enough impossible, I stand no chance'.
In regards to working for the big bad boss, in the name of YouTube, don't let their work ethics affect you ... Produce what you want to produce. YouTube is constantly changing, and they will probably interject another depressing guideline in 2019. That's the way it's going to be, so accept it.
And if you thought like me, which is, they've made it impossible I should give up ... You are feeding the monster, the more we let them walk all over us the better, (for them). DON'T you dare give up! Fight for happiness, self-worth, independence. Be yourself and stay true to yourself.
I had my moment of self-pity, and was tempted just to press the delete button, but I have not come all this way, for inaccurate, unfair numbers to be thrown in my face and tell me that I'm not capable.
Just because I don't have millions of followers, doesn't mean that my content is useless, or not worth to be paid for. It means that I will work even harder, and stay strong to eventually get to self-actualisation and tell YouTube where to stick it.
Find something you are passionate about, film it! Upload, whenever and whenever you want, you are in control of your channel! Not YouTube!

Right, you know what to do, now SPREAD THIS MESSAGE, we need to REACH as MANY people as possible! I will be filming a separate video, and uploading it today, because we need to interject hope and passion into the creators that have lost their way to self-actualisation.
WE are change, and WE need to do this!
Little Ones, I love you so much, this is then end of this blog post, but I will see you again tomorrow, something more upbeat. Remember to stay safe and stay tuned! :) x x x

Q&A

If you want to keep up to date with that I do on a daily basis follow me on my social media above, and I'll be sure to follow you right back :).

Good morning Little ones! How are you today? I thought that it was about time to write my first Q&A! I asked if you wanted me to do this and the majority of you did! You also sent in some questions which I love! I've also incorporated questions people have asked me over the years! I thought it would be lovely for you guys to know me, and what better way to do that than answer your questions :). So sit back and relax and read my responses.
  1. Favourite childhood memory :
I would have to say when my Papa (Scottish phrase for Granddad) used to come down from Scotland and leave little goodies on mine and my sisters bed. the excitement that would go through me when I saw that meant Papa was here. The look on his face when he saw us was priceless, he would have his big old smile with his tweed jacket and matching hat ... Smelling of peppermint; damn I miss him so much, RIP Papa McGuire.
  2. Favourite colour:
I have two favourite colours, does that count? I can't decide between the two! But I would have to say orange and baby blue.
  3. When is my birthday?
The 24th February, I hate that it's such a cold month! Why cold why?!
  4. My bestfriend?
My best-friend is Eisha, we met at Stanborough-Secondary School. Because her last name began with M, just like mine we were put together on the seating plan. She was so confident and cheery, and I was so awkward and weird ... But 8 years on and we are still going strong, love ya gurl.
  5. What is your middle name?
Fun fact, I actually have two! One of which was going to be my first name but my mum hated it! Margaret and Rose is the answer. Can you guess which one my  mum hated, yeah pretty obvious :').
  6. Longest relationship?
2 years ... and that was a complete mess.
  7. Where do I want to travel?
ROME! My goal in life is to sit on a balcony in Rome with a bowl of pasta, plus company which would be my boyfriend Christopher. From the pictures I've seen of Rome it's stunning, the architecture is beautiful and the history behind it all is so endearing.
  8. Have you gone abroad?
Yes I have. The first time was this year actually, I went to France with my boyfriend and his family. The sites were stunning, and meeting the other half of his family was simply wonderful.
  9. How many boyfriends have you had?
Including the one I have now, 4.
  10. Worst dentist experience?
As you may or may not already know I posted a blog post on my worst dentists experiences. I really hate the dentist, it makes me cry and cringe. But if I had to say worse, it would be when she drilled a hole in the WRONG tooth, that became infected, and then she had to take that tooth out. But  because it was infected and she didn't put me on antibiotics long enough; the local anaesthetic did NOTHING, and I felt EVERYTHING!
  11.  Do you believe in ghosts?
I want to say no, but I do. I don't know if it's because of my anxiety but I sort of do.
  12. Scared of the dark?
I'm terrified of the dark, and that's in my room and outside. If it's dark outside I will not walk alone, and if I have to I genrally run to that location. In regards to sleeping in the dark, I have to sleep with a nightlight ... I don't want the demons getting to me!
  13. Biggest fear?
To be honest I have so many fears I can't pick just one, so I'll pick my three biggest. Heights, spiders and the dark. I hate all of the above ... Nothing should have eight legs!
  14. Dog or cat?
I love both, but because I'm allergic to cats I would have to dogs! Plus I have always wanted a dog since I've never had one of my own as a pet.
  15. Curly or straight hair?
On me, I prefer curly hair, simply because straight hair is really unflattering on me, plus I have really thick hair so it weighs down my roots. which gives the appearance of flat hair.
  16. Favourite clothing store?Topshop by far! Most of my clothing is Topshop, it's scary to think how much money I have spent there.
  17. Favourite make-up brand? It depends on the product, for example if I was to pick eyeliner it would be Loreal, whereas foundation would go to Chanel. Overall I would say Chanel, their packaging is beautiful and the product content is perfection.
  18. Dream car?Mercedes E-63 in black. I feel that it would make me look like a boss, don't judge :').
  19. Sleep with the sheets on or off?As weird as it sounds, it's always on, doesn't matter if it's boiling outside, I always need something to cover my body. I'm scared of something grabbing me in my sleep ... And the duvet is my protection.
  20. Favourite current song?
Party by JP cooper, I love the beat and the sound of his voice, I constantly have this on repeat; I'm hoping I don't kill it.
  21. Where did you grow up?
I'm originally from Welwyn Garden City, it's a small town filled to the brim with trees, you think I'm joking? Please look it up ;').
  22. What was your favourite subject back at School?I can't pick as there were 3 main ones. Which was: English, Arts and P.E. English was were I could write everything down, plus I had the best teacher ever, she was also my favourite teacher; she took no shit. In regards to Art I could express my inner thoughts, plus my teacher loved my work; she was a sweetheart. PE was just perfect, I loved sports and I have always loved sports, especially long distance running and badminton.
  23. Why did you start blogging?
When I started this blog 1 year ago I was in a dark place, and I knew that writing my emotions down and turning it into advice would help people. But I had to stop back then as I didn't have the time. Nearly 4 months on and I'm constantly posting on here, I have never been happier :).
  24. Would you ever have children?
I want to say yes, but at the moment no. It would be my biggest nightmare if I had children at this age. But maybe in the near future I could see a possible family.
  25. Do you ever want to get married?
Hell yes! It's my dream to get married to my soulmate, and I honestly believe it's going to be Christopher :).
  26. Best bra?
Best bra by far is from Victoria Secret! It's the plump push up one, and mine is in a beautiful purple shade. It doesn't make your boobs look stupid; but they give them a little lift, it's sexy.
  27. What are your other hobbies outside blogger?
Sounds boring, but I love reading, drawing and going to the gym. In regards to fitness Yoga is a godsend! All the hobbies above are so relaxing and make me so happy. I don't do it everyday, as I'm either doing work, or I'm on my blog :).
  28. Weird hobbies?
It's not weird, but it sounds disgusting, but I'm going to be real with you. I love popping my boyfriend's blackheads ... I know it sounds gross, but it's so satisfying :').
  29. Favourite food?
I love Chinese food! Noodles is they key to my heart, with curry sauce and vegetables, oh yeah! :D
  30. Xbox, play-station or PC?
Sorry to the people I'm about to offend ... But I'm a PC gamer, it's so much more acurate, plus nothing beats playing CSGO on my 34 inch curved monitor, #sorrynotsorry.
This is the end of the blog post, I hope that you enjoyed this, I know that I did! It bought back so many memories. Plus I want you guys to know me like my friends do, because I love you and I want to be your friend. I hope you have a lovely day! I  will see you again soon with a vegan recipe and a storytime :).
Stay safe and stay tuned Little ones :) x x x

Knock Knock Review

5 days a week planner- knock knock

Twitter:AmyRoseMcGuire
Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com

Disclaimer: I have not been paid by Knock Knock to do this review, I have always liked their stationary collections. They helped me with exam preparation, planning blogs and organising my week.

Hello again little ones! How have you been today? I've already posted a blog post today, click here if you want to see it.
I've also been planning other blog posts, and spending time in the garden watching Jeremy Kyle :'). Any who, I thought that it was about time to write a review on this fantastic notepad! I've always been a fan of Knock Knock; and when I bought this a few months ago I was relieved! I was able to plan my entire week and segregate what needed done first and what could wait. It's amazing if you need to improve your organisation!
If you want to know more about the product and my thoughts and feelings have a little look down below! :D

If you want to read another review click here!

PRESENTATION:

Knock Knock have always presented their products in a professional and consistent manor. For example they use bright, positive and vibrant colours. I have never bought a product from them, and received something dull or uninteresting. In regards to this 5 days a week pad, it's perfection, for the soul reason that they've actually combined my two favourite colours: orange and baby-blue. This screams happiness. Additionally, I love the fact that it's bold because it's easy to find; as well as this it makes it unique; simply because most stationary pads are plain and boring, this captures my attention in a heartbeat.
Knock knock have organised this pad so it's easy to use by everyone. The 5 columns are clearly sectioned off depending on the day, it gives you more than enough in one day to write what you need. I take down rough notes, as it's just a reminder of what I need to do that day. Also I love the fact that knock knock have faded out the colours so it's not so harsh, for example the lines that divide each section is a lighter orange in comparison to the rich bright orange. I feel that if they had used the same colour orange it would have been too much, an it would have ruined the design completely; but that's just my opinion.
On the other hand, I adore the fine detailing of this product, for example, Knock Knock has placed a 'hopes for the week' and 'results of the week' section in the right hand corner. This is a brilliant idea, simply because, it makes you feel optimistic and positive, you know what you need to do, all you need to do now is to complete the tasks. Every time you tick a task off it's weight lifted off your shoulders, as well as feeling accomplished. In addition, if you think of any other ideas during the weak Knock Knock enable you to write down additional notes in the, weekend  and next week section. And if anything gets too much, or if you forget to do something, you can place it in the snowball in hell section. This makes sure that it will get done, but you obviously have other priorities. Believe me some times I think of new blog posts on the spot and forget what I was originally meant to write.

THE PRODUCT:

The product itself is perfect, I can't say anything bad about this product, if I had to be fussy, and I mean really fussy, I would say that they should come out with different colours for people. They might not like this colour scheme, have more of a variety for people.
On the other hand, I love the way the paper feels, it's super soft, I know some notebooks I've bought and I've hated writing in them because the paper is so rough; it makes me cringe ... Am I the only one that thinks that? :')
Like I've said previously, there is enough space to write notes of what you need to do in that day, it keeps everything separate and organised so you can read everything with ease. Also it gives you enough space in the columns that you can tick off each task when you are done. More-so, this product is small enough to go on your desk, it doesn't take up too much space, and it says on the pack that you can actually use it as a mouse-mat! I know that I will use it in both forms! While I'm sitting at my computer I can see what else I need to do; this is a constant reminder. If you are going to University in September you need this! You need to keep on top of your tasks and work, you don't want to fall behind. you need something that is going to organise your University life and personal life.

PRICE:

This pad retails for £6.95, I bought mine from Waterstones as I was already in there for a book and I saw this. I feel that this is a really good price for what you get. For one the paper is high quality, I've paid more for Oxford notepads and there is less paper in those and they are double the price; this pad is just as good. It's keeps everything organised and I've never seen anything else like this! I have always had to make my timetables on word, I've been looking for something like this foe years, and I came into contact with this product a few months ago.
This is completely worth the money! It saves time and stress! Instead of trying to remember it at the top of your head, (believe me I did this for years and I forgot more than half), write it down!

If you are interested in buying one of these pads click the link below:

Thank you so much for reading this post, and I hope you enjoyed it! I know what I LOVE stationary and keeping organised, when I read blog posts like this I'm filled with joy! Someone out there that shares the same passion knows what I'm on about :).
I love you all so very much! I will either see you again today or early tomorrow morning with a gardening blog post!
If you want to see that stay tuned, give me a little follow for notifications, if not read it in your own time:)
