LIPSTICK DUPES:

Good evening Little Ones! I have an exciting new blog post! No it's not a product review, recipe, or even a haul. As you can tell by the title of this post, it's a lipstick dupe recommendations! I have been wanting to do this for a while; but seeing that it's time consuming, I found it hard to find the time to do this to the best of my abilities! But here we are, and I can't wait to share this with you.
Without any further or do, I present you with my lipstick dupes!

MAC LIQUID LIPSTICK VS L'OREAL LIP PAINT:

Our first competitor is the Mac liquid lipstick-topped with brandy for  £17.50, this was my first ever liquid lipstick, and it set high standards. The colour is beautiful, the longevity is magnificent, and it suits all skin-tones; to find something half the price was going to be a challenge, (so I thought).
A few months down the line, L'Oreal happened to launch their very own versions of liquid lipsticks; seeing that I was already a fan on their products, I decided to purchase a few from the collection.
I landed with the shade 219, a stunning purple-grey, but it reminded me of something I already owned, the formulation is great, glides on well but sometimes goes patchy, which isn't the end of the world; seeing that it was £6.99.
In comparison to the Mac liquid lipstick, the colour is just as elegant, but the formulation wasn't as easy to apply, and also, it didn't last as long. But so what if you have to re-apply? If it saves £10, are you really going to fuss?

CHANEL LIPSTICK VS RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICK:

First and foremost, my Chanel lipstick in the shade 402 retails for, £28, I originally purchased this when I went to France, and fell in love with it immediately. This was perfect for the christening later on that day, and it lasted such a long time, and even stayed after a huge meal ... Which still shocks me, as it's a glossy lipstick.
When I headed back to the UK, I paraded Boots, since I was growing my lipstick collection, I decided to repurchase a few lipsticks, one of them being the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick, in the shade 03.
Again, I thought to myself, I wonder if that would be similar to my Chanel lipstick, I swatched them side by side, and they were a match! The texture is near enough the same, as well as the colour, (obviously); and they last about the same time. The only main difference between them is the finish, the Chanel lipstick is more glossy, whereas the Rimmel is matte.

ESTEE LAUDER VS MAYBELLINE GIGI HADID:

Now we all know I'm not a stranger to reds ... But I did start somewhere, and that just so happened to be Estee Lauder pure envy lipstick, in the shade 370, which retails for, £26. I knew what I wanted, and I needed to start the classic red lipstick look; with only the best.
Let me just say, the pigmentation is out of this world, and it lasts all day! Even when you take this beauty off, it leaves a subtle pink glow, which if you are going for a no-makeup look the next day; this is perfect!
Now, when I felt confident with red lipstick, I wanted to branch out to several brands, I landed upon Gigi Hadid's collection; and everyone was raving about it! So I followed the crowd, and decided to buy a few lipsticks, one I adore, which is the shade Austin ... Again, the pigmentation is phenomenal! This is probably the best drug-store lipstick I have ever come across, the only main differences between the two lipsticks is the finish, Estee Lauder is more glossy, whereas the Maybelline is matte. And the fact that the Maybelline lipstick retails for, £8.99, which is a massive saving of over £10, why not go for the cheaper option?

BAREMINERALS VS BOURJOIS

Well hello there Bareminerals ... I love your liquid lipsticks, I just so happen to have quite a few in my collection, the newest edition to the family happens to be flawless. Hello? The texture of this lipstick is so whipped, and it doesn't dry my lips to hell, like other liquid lipsticks. And the colour range? Absolutely alluring, I have to have them all! (One day)
But that can come to a hasty cost, as these babies come to a total of £18 each, which if you are on a budget, can be a shock. So I was on the hunt for a dupe, for half the price!
Eventually, I came across Bourjois liquid lipstick range, they had so many enchanting colours, but I decided that 07 was the closest, it was more pink than I wanted it to be; but it was nearly there. Both textures were identical, they were whipped which I really liked, and they both had the same finish, (dried down matte). The only main difference was the staying power, the Bareminerals lasted a lot longer, but the Bourjois only costs, £8.49, which is a fraction of the price, so what if you have to keep applying throughout the day.

We have hit the end of the blog post, I really enjoyed writing this piece, and if you want to see other dupe products, I have a tonne in my make-up collection; it's all down to you Little Ones! Whatever you want, I will meet your needs.
I love you all so very much, and it feels so good to be back writing in my happy place! I will see you again Wednesday! Although, I have been thinking of writing a blog post everyday? What do you think?
Anyhow, remember to stay safe and stay tuned! :) x x x

BACKSTORY:

I'm an extremely anxious human being. I NEVER leave receipts out in the open, I shred everything that has my details on; this is what my mother taught me, and I go by her standards. It may sound ridiculous, but not when there are evil people out there trying to take your hard-working money away from you. In addition to this, I have never been the one to put excessive amounts of card information on the internet; the only time I would EVER do this would be online shopping; which I don't think I will be doing for a while; because of a recent situation that has happened to me.

WHAT HAPPENED:

Profoundly, I was on the internet, doing the usual-research, social media and replying to emails. One caught my eye, it was an email from Gov.com. It stated that I was due a tax rebate; which I found amazing at the time; it looked like a legit email ... So I put my card details in, as well as my full name and address. All PERSONAL information. I was thinking to myself that this was perfect, I was getting paid soon and this on top would of been perfection!
The positive thoughts stopped when I received a text message from my bank, it stated that my account was being hacked into and that I needed to phone the fraud department as soon as possible. My heart was in my mouth, I couldn't believe that this was happening to me! I was always careful with my money, I had no idea at this point in time how this could of happened. I looked up the number that the bank text me on; just to make sure that it was the bank, simply because I didn't want to disclose any personal information over the phone to fakes. It was a legit number so I called them, they stated, "did you try and pay for something on Maplins for £420?" I urgently said, "no". Panic was rifling down my body, my hands were clammy from the sweat, I had no idea what to do, the lady's words sounded like a blur. It took a few moments for me to snap back to reality and think that I had to do something, and something quick! She said, "we will put a block on your account, we are also sending you a new card in 2 working days" She also said, "for them to of done this they would of has to of known ALL your personal information". It was then that it clicked ... The email ... I had put all my personal information on there, my heart sank and I began to sob. She consulted me while I told her what I had done by mistake. She reassured me that my account was blocked and she would unblock in when my new card arrived, just so I would be able to spend my money when I got paid. I was worried of what she thought of me, that I was a careless young child that couldn't look after my details, I poured my heart out to this person, she did nothing but laugh a little and say that this happens all the time; and that this had happened to her a few years back. She was ever so kind.
In this current situation I now have my new card and my anxiety has gone away for the time being.

KEY TIPS:

If you have received an EMAIL from GOV it's NOT real! It's FAKE! The government will only get into contact with you over the phone, or they will send you a letter in a BROWN envelope!
I thought that they could send out emails, but they don't! Although they offer online services they do not require you to fill out any personal information on the web, only over the phone! Something else you need to know, is that if you are owed a tax rebate, you can ONLY do this OVER THE PHONE. They will take your information over the phone, and they will NOT ask for card details. They will send you a check in the post with your rebate. I repeat they do NOT ask for card information, if they do they are FAKE!

This is now the end of my blog post, I know this is a very scary topic, but I want to make sure that my Little ones are safe and sound. If this has happened to you, or someone you know, or if you are unsure then at least you know now.
Please don't do what I did, it was a tough lesson to learn, but I didn't know at the time, it was too late. But I am ok now, and you guys will be as well!
I love you all so very much, I will see you tomorrow with something a bit more positive! Sleep tight and see you tomorrow! Stay safe and stay tuned Little ones :) x x x

Knock Knock Review

5 days a week planner- knock knock

Twitter:AmyRoseMcGuire
Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com

Disclaimer: I have not been paid by Knock Knock to do this review, I have always liked their stationary collections. They helped me with exam preparation, planning blogs and organising my week.

Hello again little ones! How have you been today? I've already posted a blog post today, click here if you want to see it.
I've also been planning other blog posts, and spending time in the garden watching Jeremy Kyle :'). Any who, I thought that it was about time to write a review on this fantastic notepad! I've always been a fan of Knock Knock; and when I bought this a few months ago I was relieved! I was able to plan my entire week and segregate what needed done first and what could wait. It's amazing if you need to improve your organisation!
If you want to know more about the product and my thoughts and feelings have a little look down below! :D

If you want to read another review click here!

PRESENTATION:

Knock Knock have always presented their products in a professional and consistent manor. For example they use bright, positive and vibrant colours. I have never bought a product from them, and received something dull or uninteresting. In regards to this 5 days a week pad, it's perfection, for the soul reason that they've actually combined my two favourite colours: orange and baby-blue. This screams happiness. Additionally, I love the fact that it's bold because it's easy to find; as well as this it makes it unique; simply because most stationary pads are plain and boring, this captures my attention in a heartbeat.
Knock knock have organised this pad so it's easy to use by everyone. The 5 columns are clearly sectioned off depending on the day, it gives you more than enough in one day to write what you need. I take down rough notes, as it's just a reminder of what I need to do that day. Also I love the fact that knock knock have faded out the colours so it's not so harsh, for example the lines that divide each section is a lighter orange in comparison to the rich bright orange. I feel that if they had used the same colour orange it would have been too much, an it would have ruined the design completely; but that's just my opinion.
On the other hand, I adore the fine detailing of this product, for example, Knock Knock has placed a 'hopes for the week' and 'results of the week' section in the right hand corner. This is a brilliant idea, simply because, it makes you feel optimistic and positive, you know what you need to do, all you need to do now is to complete the tasks. Every time you tick a task off it's weight lifted off your shoulders, as well as feeling accomplished. In addition, if you think of any other ideas during the weak Knock Knock enable you to write down additional notes in the, weekend  and next week section. And if anything gets too much, or if you forget to do something, you can place it in the snowball in hell section. This makes sure that it will get done, but you obviously have other priorities. Believe me some times I think of new blog posts on the spot and forget what I was originally meant to write.

THE PRODUCT:

The product itself is perfect, I can't say anything bad about this product, if I had to be fussy, and I mean really fussy, I would say that they should come out with different colours for people. They might not like this colour scheme, have more of a variety for people.
On the other hand, I love the way the paper feels, it's super soft, I know some notebooks I've bought and I've hated writing in them because the paper is so rough; it makes me cringe ... Am I the only one that thinks that? :')
Like I've said previously, there is enough space to write notes of what you need to do in that day, it keeps everything separate and organised so you can read everything with ease. Also it gives you enough space in the columns that you can tick off each task when you are done. More-so, this product is small enough to go on your desk, it doesn't take up too much space, and it says on the pack that you can actually use it as a mouse-mat! I know that I will use it in both forms! While I'm sitting at my computer I can see what else I need to do; this is a constant reminder. If you are going to University in September you need this! You need to keep on top of your tasks and work, you don't want to fall behind. you need something that is going to organise your University life and personal life.

PRICE:

This pad retails for £6.95, I bought mine from Waterstones as I was already in there for a book and I saw this. I feel that this is a really good price for what you get. For one the paper is high quality, I've paid more for Oxford notepads and there is less paper in those and they are double the price; this pad is just as good. It's keeps everything organised and I've never seen anything else like this! I have always had to make my timetables on word, I've been looking for something like this foe years, and I came into contact with this product a few months ago.
This is completely worth the money! It saves time and stress! Instead of trying to remember it at the top of your head, (believe me I did this for years and I forgot more than half), write it down!

I love you all so very much! I will either see you again today or early tomorrow morning with a gardening blog post!

Mac Turquatic Perfume

Twitter:AmyRoseMcGuire

If you are a Mac fan and love their products I'm sure you will like this review. If you haven't tried this perfume I suggest you do! :D
If you want to know my thoughts and feelings, and details about this product, look below and enjoy reading :)

PRESENTATION:

Can we just talk about how beautiful this packaging is?! The ombre blue, sinking into the green is enchanting and breathtaking. I have never seen anything like this with perfume packaging, it's innovative, and I'm so glad that a company has done something outside of the box. Don't get me wrong, I think the classical glass bottle and fancy writing is stunning; but this is extraordinary! Additionally, as you explore the bottle, the base has earthy green feathers, this clearly emulates seaweed; which is commonly associated with the sea. In regards to the cap on the bottle, the piercing teal green is beautiful and eye-catching; it looks like reflections of the sea surface; it brings back the memories of when I went to the aquarium center in London; and I could see what was essentially the ocean. On the other hand, the spray nozzle is fantastic, a little goes a long way! Which one pump so much perfume comes out, it covers the entire body. The pump action isn't stiff, it's smooth, and because the mental has been buffed it doesn't get stuck, unlike cheap perfumes.
The glass element adds a sense of luxury, makes it evident that it's perfume, and also makes it clearer to see the ombre affect; it creates the illusion that you are carrying the sea.
I love that Mac has embroidered their logo, this makes it evident that this is their product; anyone who looks at this will associate it with Mac, and think,'wow, this is a beautiful product, I wonder what else Mac creates'. This is what I thought, and I love their products. Additionally, I love the way they link the name of their product and portray this within the packaging; this shows that they are a well thought out business, and go outside of the box in order to compete with their market.

THE PRODUCT:

This is a well crafted perfume, we soon as you smell this scent it breathtaking and beautiful. At first it's sweet, but not in terms of actual sweets; you can tell that it's a feminine scent. It then takes you on a journey on a night out; it luxurious, sexy and mysterious. It's not overwhelming either, it doesn't smell like chemicals either, it's a natural scent. Let me put you in my perspective, it smells like when you are walking down the street, and a woman walks past you, and they smell like perfection; this is what it smells like. As well as this, it lasts a long time; although I use it a lot, as it's my go to perfume. I have used this non-stop for a year and I've purchased 3 bottles.
When I spray this, it takes me back to the time when I first bought this. I was out in London, it was the 22nd of June/July and the weather in the UK was perfect! It was around 25-30! I have heard so many great things about this perfume so I decided to finally purchase it! I went into Selfridges and headed to the Mac counter, I saw at the till point that the perfume was there; I picked it up and bought it. I remember walking outside of Selfridges, the heat hit my face and to cool myself down I sprayed this on. It was sensational; the smell was breathtaking and purely amazing. It's my favourite perfume; like I said, this is my third bottle!

PRICE:

The price of the 50ml is £39 on their website, but if you want the 20ml it's £23. This is a very affordable perfume, before I had bought this I never looked up how much it was, just because I assumed it would be around the £30-60 mark. When she said it was £30 I was shocked, it's really inexpensive for a high end fragrance; so I thought that this was a complete bargain. In the past year I have bought 3 bottles, but I've only recently bought the third, and I still have a tiny amount in my second. They also offer a roll on perfume for £16, which I also bought, and this lasted 5 months! I would normally apply that on my neck and wrists.

All in all I think this product is a must have! This is my signature smell, it's what I'm known for. My boyfriend says, "this is my Amy smell"; this is what he associates me with, it would be strange if I wore anything else.
I would HIGHLY recommend! Even if you are not into it, it makes a great gift for friends or family.
If you are interested in buying from the Mac Turquatic range click the link below and explore :D

Like always Little ones, I hope you have had a lovely day, stay tuned and see you later on today! :D
