FIRST IMPRESSIONS-CHANEL NAIL POLISH

CHANEL LE VERNIS NAIL COLOUR | FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Good evening Little Ones, I've just settled down from sweating profusely at the gym ... Arm days are the absolute worst! Maybe because I have next to no arm muscles, but we are getting there Little Ones, slowly but surely!
Anyhow, it's been a minute since I've done a first impressions, and never before have I written about nail polish, simply because I stick to the same old brands ... But Chris treated me randomly to Chanel nail polish! I've never owned such an expensive polish before, but let's dive into application, longevity, is it worth it?
If that's something that sounds exciting, scroll below!
To ensure you are keeping up to date with my content, click here! Without any further or do, let’s crack on with the first impressions!

THE PACKAGING:

Chanel, this is what I'm talking about ... I know I dug at you a little on my previous blog post, but here you are sticking to traditional routes, glass bottles, can I get an amen!
This has to be the most beautiful nail polish component I've ever laid my eyes upon, and I've even had the pleasure to witness Christian Louboutin's creations; but simplicity overall wins.
Yes, having a nail polish that could slay your enemies is fantastic, but stay classy with Chanel, the overly bold lid, with the ever so iconic Chanel logo remains beautiful.
The design remains consistent throughout, for example, the lid screams bulky as well as the square glass container that follows.
Detail is key, Chanel evidently keeps that in the back of their mind as they make their smallest products feel like a treasure for each consumer.
Unlike other nail polish, Chanel decided to remain innovative by positioning the phrase, 'le vernis' on the centre of the bottle, it actually translates to nail polish; some of which other make-up companies wouldn't do.
Seeing that Chanel was founded in Paris, and remains a French brand, I adore the fact that they continue to stay within their routes.
With their entire nail polish range, all the colours shine beautifully, there is so much space provided, there is no need for prolonged synonym for perfect, plain and simple, just how I like it.

THE PRODUCT:

Where to start? Maybe the shade name? Rouge red, now application time! Firstly, the brush provided is fantastic, small enough to fit into the cuticles, but big enough to apply an even distribution of product.
When I initially applied the polish I was shocked by how much pigment followed, it wasn't streaky, didn't bubble and went on evenly.
But, with such a high price point that's what I expected!
The colour is true to what it looks like in the bottle, (I know some products portray one colour, but translate differently when applied to the nail).
Which is fantastic! If you are considering what colour to purchase at least you know what you are getting yourself into, no cat-fishing going on here.
I can't fault the colour, absolutely enchanting, such a classy bright red ... Makes me feel powerful and sexy!
Once I've painted my nails, I feel like I can achieve anything and everything ... This red makes me feel and act confident!
Although, here is the kicker ... Goes on like a dream, colour is dreamy, but this takes such a long time to dry!
I don't mind painting my nails and waiting an hour, when I normally do my nails I'm watching a film, that way I give it more than enough time, so I can get on with the rest of my day.
But no ... This nail polish proceeded to anger me! After waiting an hour, and having applied only 2 thin layers I thought it was time to move on.
I barely touched the corner, and smudge city ... Believe me, I have patience, but that's where I draw the line.
I have places to go Chanel, stop taking my time away by forcing me to wait more than an hour to let my nails dry!
It took a total of 2 hours before I felt confident doing anything relatively challenging with my hands ... Which is so frustrating.
Finally, once this beauty has dried down the finish is phenomenal, shiny healthy looking nails, the amount of compliments I received, "where did you get your nails done"?, "Such a beautiful colour, what brand is it"?

THE PRICE:

It all comes down to a hearty price of, £22 ... Damn, I've never spent this much money on a nail polish, and I still haven't, as this was a random act of kindness from my beloved fiance.
Would I personally spend £22 ... I think I would yes, due to the fact after wearing this nail polish for a couple of days, it still hasn't chipped, the colour is gorgeous, (you could get away with 1 application).
The drying situation is throwing me off, but I used to get my nails done once a month, that averagely cost around, £30-35 each month, whereas if I spend £22 on one nail polish, I'm sorted for a couple of months.
It's all up to you and what you want to spend your money on, for me personally it's worth the cash, but if it's not for you; there are some great shades by Essie.
If you are interested in this particular product click the link below, saves you from searching the internet.
I hope you liked this read, I sure loved writing it! Enjoy the rest of the weekend while it lasts.
I love you all very much, I will see you again tomorrow with another photo shoot explanation!
Remember to stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! :) x x x

CHANEL FOUNDATION REVIEW | WORTH THE MONEY?

CHANEL VITALUMIERE AQUA FOUNDATION REVIEW

Snapchat: amymrmcguire
Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com
YOUTUBE: MissRoseMcGuire

Welcome back Little Ones! Could you have guessed that it was exam season? I have finally put together a secure timetable which enables me to: write blog posts, film videos, model, revise as well as learn to drive!
Yes, I’ve picked up driving, would you believe that I’ve just found the time to drive?
Anyhow, I’m sorry that I've left you in the dark for a couple of weeks, believe me it’s not been a barrel of laughs; but I’m back in business and ready to give you a review!
I’ve accomplished so much, but to edge back into blogging I thought I would start off simple and give you a beloved review!
To ensure you are keeping up to date with my content, click here! Without any further or do, let’s crack on with the review!

THE PACKAGING:

Let’s face it, we all know that Chanel implements marvellous packing, which is why I was heavily disappointed when I saw this component … Yes, I know, packing isn’t everything, but when you are paying a large sum of money for a foundation, you best be mighty fine!
It didn’t knock my socks off, when I emulate Chanel in my mind, pure sophistication and opulence runs through my veins, when I was face to face with this component, I never expected a plastic squeeze tube for my foundation … Especially from Chanel.
Convenient? Tick, you can access the correct amount of foundation, no risk of spilling … But there’s also another mechanism which has been invented … A pump, why could there not have been a pump in a matt glass bottle? Why did you stoop so low Chanel? It’s not like your entire foundation line have been pumped into plastic bottles, your le teint ultra tenue comes in a matt bottle … With a pump?

Points for experimenting but stick to what you know.
I’m aware that some of you may be thinking, “wow, she’s overreacting, and completely snobby” … I’m all for drugstore foundations, Maybelline dream satin liquid foundation is fantastic, great shade range, longevity, and only £7.99 … And guess what, it comes in a glass bottle, but even if it didn’t I wouldn’t care … Because it's only £7.99.

THE PRODUCT:

Chanel, the contents inside the bottle is pure brilliance, initially when you squeeze the foundation out of the tube, you are met with a creamy consistency, not too thick that it’s going to bury your pores alive, but not too watery where it slides all over the place.
It’s the Goldilocks of foundation consistency … Now that we’ve established that the texture is perfect, let’s get onto how this product applies.
Traditionally, I always prep my skin with my beloved Origins moisturiser, as well as the YSL secrets primer, after that’s sunk into the skin, I applied the Chanel foundation with my beauty blender, the more I buffed into the skin, the more I fell in love with this product.
My skin appeared radiant, healthy and goddess like … My skin looked like real skin, I know that sounds bizarre, but some foundations place a weird film over your face, which makes your skin beneath the makeup appear fake, (not the look I’m going for).
I was pleasantly surprised that not only was this foundation medium coverage, but I could build the coverage without the product appearing blotchy or greasy.
I’m the type of woman that adores natural makeup, I want luminous skin without my redness starring in the show, is that too much to ask for?
Anyhow, after I’d finished applying the foundation, I couldn’t believe how beautiful my skin was … I’m not a confident person, nor do I like my appearance, but I can confidently state that was skin was perfect.
The foundation covered everything I wanted, while still letting my natural skin shine through.
Something I should mention, I have very dry skin … When I purchase a foundation, I need it to moisturise my skin, and not settle in my dry patches, as soon as a foundation highlights my dry skin; it goes flying into the bin.
Luckily enough, this foundation aided my dry skin, making it look better than ever, the longevity of this product is insane, for a hydrating product I made it to the 8-hour mark before having to touch up, and even then, it still looked reasonably presentable.
Lastly, before you use this product each time you have to shake it, otherwise the product settles at the bottom and it comes out curdled … Doesn’t look pretty, but as long as you shake prior to application nothing will go wrong.
All in all, if you want luminous skin I would highly recommend this product, lasts such a long time, doesn’t settle in my dry patches, and the shade range is fantastic … I’m exceedingly pale, and the lightest shade (10 beige) couldn’t suit my complexion better.

THE PRICE:

If you’ve come here expecting a budget foundation, unfortunately this isn’t the review or product for you … The vitalumiere aqua foundation retails for a total of, £37.
Yes … I know, it’s expensive, but I’m the type of consumer that would pay extra if it meets all my requirements.
This foundation executed perfectly, I couldn’t have asked for a better product, it’s now my current favourite and I have no idea how any other product is going to top this one.
Seeing that it matched my skin complexion, lasted all day, and made my skin look radiant … It’s a win in my books.
I have no idea how this would turn out for someone with oily skin, it may just slide off? I have no idea, but what I do know, is that if you suffer with stubborn dry skin, this is the foundation for you.
I know this isn’t the most affordable foundation, but I do have other drugstore alternatives, I’ll be listing and giving a detailed review, on the best drugstore foundations … And yes, that will be arriving in the week.
If you are interested in this product I will leave the link below for you, saves you typing it!

Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation link:

Thank you for getting this far, I know my reviews are always lengthy, but I want you guys to leave with as much information as possible.
There’s nothing worse than buying a product after reading a few short reviews, and finding out it doesn’t work … I’ve been there and it’s extremely frustrating.
Let me know what you would like me to write next, I’m always up for suggestions, if not then I will control the reins and post whatever comes to mind.
I hope you have a lovely day, I’m just about to head to work!
I love you all so very much, thank you for reading! I will see you in the next blog post! Remember to stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! :) x x x

BOLD LIP LOOK

BRIGHT MAKE-UP

Snapchat: amymrmcguire
Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com
YOUTUBE: MissRoseMcGuire

Good afternoon Little Ones! Today is a new day, and I've decided to talk you through one of my favourite make-up looks, I have no idea how this is going to work, seeing as you can't hear or see me; but let's give it a go. For my fellow readers out there, you are in for a treat! Besides, this has been highly requested for some time.
Without any further or do, let's roll on my first make-up tutorial, reading edition!

Firstly, as always I turned my face into the perfect canvas, by removing all dead-skin with my ever so trusted Clearasil exfoliation pads ... Who wants to apply foundation to the Sahara desert? Not the look I'm going for, to ensure that moisture was pumped back into my system I used my beloved moisturiser-Origins Make A Difference Plus Ultra-Rich Cream. Wow, that's sounds like a mouthful.
Now you know I've actually put effort into my skincare routine to ensure my make-up looks flawless, let's dive into the make-up side of things.

FACE-BASE PRODUCTS:

YSL TOP SECRETS MOISTURE GLOW PRIMER:

Little Ones, I can't emphasis this enough, believe me I used to think primer was a useless step and a waste of money, but this makes all the difference to adding hydration to the skin, and ensuring my make-up stays put all day.
This glides onto my skin effortlessly, as well as hydrating my skin, diminishing all the dry patches. On a daily basis I apply this product after my moisturiser, and focus on my dry patches, being: forehead, nose and cheeks.

MAYBELLINE DREAM SATIN LIQUID FOUNDATION (SHADE 02 FAIR BEIGE)

Normally I tend to stay away from drug-store foundations as they can never nail my shade, it's always far too dark, or orange, neither of which I'm content with; last time I checked I wasn't auditioning for an Oompa Loompa role for Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. But, Maybelline managed to near enough create an almost perfect shade! It's slightly too dark, but with concealer it tones it down, the average person wouldn't even notice. The coverage and finish is beautiful! I tend to apply this foundation with a beauty blender, I use as much as I see fit and blend it out until I'm happy with the way it looks.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME CONCEALER (SHADE 05):

Next up is my precious concealer by Maybelline, I've been testing a few drug-store concealers and this one is beyond my favourite. The coverage and finish is phenomenal, it blends like a dream, and matches with every foundation in my collection; high-end and drug-store.
I apply this under my eyes, forehead and chin, anywhere I want to add dimension to my face, I place it there and blend it out with my trusty beauty blender.

POWDER FACE PRODUCTS:

CHANEL LOOSE POWDER:

Look what we have here ... My most used, (and favourite powder), if you have dry skin this has become your new best-friend. I use this to set my concealer and foundation, I bake underneath my eyes, as well as lightly tapping the remainder of the product over the rest of my face.
The Chanel loose power is a dream to work with, smooth in texture without feeling chalky on the skin, which is why it's perfect for dryer skin.

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER:

To be able to give the appearance that I'm not dying, I use my Benefit hoola bronzer, ever since I discovered make-up, this has been my go-to bronzer. I've tried others in the past, but nothing compares to this beauty. I lightly apply this to my: forehead, cheekbones, jaw and neck. When I'm happy with the application, I take a contour brush, and directly apply it to my cheekbones and jaw; just to make them more defined.

NARS SARAH MOON BLUSH PALETTE:

Before I get judged ... I know it's a blush palette, but the golden shade is the perfect highlighter, it gives such a sensational subtle glow, I adore it. So we've all established that I use the golden shade for highlighter, but I also use the rose-gold shade for blush. Sometimes I use orgasm by Nars, but lately I've been obsessed with this product. In terms of application I use my blush brush for you guessed it ... Blush, and my highlighter brush for ... Highlighter!

EYE PRODUCTS:

I've finally started to use mascara on a regular basis, take me to the promised land! I've been trying to find a great mascara for years, after spending a stupid amount of money I gave up. Until social media forced me to believe that I needed sensational lashes ... So I branched out and tried this, It does such a fantastic job, gives me so much length, and even holds a subtle curl, (which I never knew I had).
On the other hand, I also used the L'Oreal Super Slim Liner in black, this idiot forgot to take a picture, but I've always used this liner to create the perfect cat-eye.

LIP PRODUCTS:

GIGI HADID LIP LINER AND LIPSTICK (SHADE AUSTYN)

We all know I no stranger to a red lip ... I used to be extremely intimidated by the thought of wearing red lipstick, maybe because of the negative connotations, and being bullied at school, (didn't help). Since having a massive lipstick collection I love experimenting with both, high-end and drug-store lip products. I just no happened to stumble across the relatively new Gigi Hadid collection. I adore this shade, it's the perfect red in my opinion, if I can rock it anyone can! Although, be careful with the lip-liner, it crumples away at times, (really annoying), but be careful with application.

Right now Little Ones, this is now the end of my blog post! If you are interested in any of the products above, I will leave a link below for you all! Saves you lot manual labour.
If you liked this blog post, then please let me know! It was interesting, due to the fact I couldn't show you how I use these products, if you want to see more of this then let me know!
I hope you have a lovely day, and I will see you tomorrow! Remember to stay safe and stay tuned!

YSL MATTE LIPSTICK REVIEW

219 YSL MATTE LIPSTICK REVIEW

Instagram:amymrmcguire
Twitter:amymrmcguire
Snapchat: amymrmcguire
Email: missamymcguire@hotmail.com

Good evening Little Ones! How has your day been so far! I have my week planned out, and it's looking positive, I'm just hoping that I stay this organised throughout the year! As requested, many of you wanted a review of my current favourite lipstick, and that so happens to be ANOTHER YSL product, which isn't an issue for me; as I adore their products. If you want to read a detailed review on this wonder, then keep on reading.

THE PACKAGING:

Yet again, YSL never fail to satisfy me when it comes to their beautifully packaged products, depending on the finish of the lipstick; determines the design. Their matte lipsticks are protected by a block of illuminating gold; with the classical YSL emblem, portraying that this is their creation. Again, that doesn't take my by surprise, this is their image: clean, elegant and captivating. Seeing this golden goddess in your make-up creation makes you feel proud, it stands out from the crowd.
On the other hand, the lid comes off effortlessly, but ensures proper protection if you were to drop this lipstick. If I had to critique, I would suggest that they put the colour of the actual lipstick at the bottom,l this way it makes it easier to differentiate what the colour is, whereas you have to read the shade name to ensure that you have the right lipstick.
Other than that, this lipstick gets a 10/10 on presentation, little is more in this industry, in my opinion any way.

THE PRODUCT:

Now to the main event! Over the years I have equated an array of lipsticks, I know the features that make a fantastic lipstick, vice-versa. The elements that ensure you have the perfect lipstick entail: long staying power, high pigmentation, comfortable to wear, easy to apply and doesn't bleed. You'll be pleased to know that this YSL lipstick in the shade 219 ticks all the boxes. When I first applied this lipstick, it went on like a dream, it's exceedingly soft and creamy; which is strange for a matte lipstick. The diamond shape applicator made it really easily to apply, and managed to reach the awkward places of my mouth; being the inner corners. The pigmentation of this wonder is out-of-this-world! One swipe and you look like a sexy senorita!
As portrayed in the images above, this is what this lipstick looks like on the lip, it does have a slight blue undertone, which can enhance yellow teeth; but I didn't have this issue. Now for the real part of the test! How long did it take to bleed? And it didn't, not once! Which really shocked me, especially with a bright red lipstick, I had no lip-liner on, just this lipstick alone, and it didn't bleed into my foundation; which was amazing!
This lipstick was super comfortable throughout the day, didn't crack or make me want to take it off my mouth. I know with some lipsticks they can dry out your lips, but not this one, which again, is fantastic for a pure matte lipstick.
Last but not least, the longevity of this product is outstanding, I applied this to my lips at the beginning of the day, and didn't have to do a touch up until 3 in the afternoon. When it came to taking it off, it wouldn't budge. This lipstick even left a beautiful rose stain the next morning; which I used as a lipstick. That being said, if you don't want pink lips the next morning, just place another lipstick on top.

PRICE:

Now onto the price, this lipstick retails for, £28 ... Which is I believe the most expensive lipstick I own? Might even top one of my Chanel prices. Yes it's an expensive lipstick, but the pure quality of the product really shines through. It ticks all the boxes in lipstick land! To find a product that does all those to a high standard is remarkable! Pick this up when you can, they offer phenomenal shades, and look great on all skin tones.
Although, if this is out of your price range, I do have a dupe blog post and video coming out this January! So stay tuned for that Little Ones.

If you are interested in purchasing this product, click the link below!

That's it for today's blog post, I hope you enjoyed the read, I loved writing it! I can't wait to show you what I'm posting on Friday! Something from different from a review, don't worry!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! :) x x x

DIOR STAR FOUNDATION REVIEW

DIOR STAR FOUNDATION REVIEW

If you want to keep up to date with that I do on a daily basis follow me on my social media above, and I'll be sure to follow you right back :).

Good evening Little Ones! How has your day been so far? I thought that I would give you another product review, since that's what you wanted! BUT, I want to get into more baking, so when I'm 100% better you can expect to see more recipes! I have filmed a video on this product, so if you want to check that out, then click here!
If that's not your cup of tea feel free to stay where you are, carry on reading! So, without further or do, let's crack on with the review.

THE PACKAGING:

Well hello Dior! This is the only foundation, and beauty product that I own by Dior ... First impressions, I'm wowed! Exceedingly elegant, yet simple ... I adore the flash of monochrome metal and black contrast; it dazzles just like a star, how fitting?
Dior have remained consistent throughout this entire product, tying in micro detailing, for instance, the initials of Christian Dior placed elegantly on the lid cap; it makes it feel personal, embellished and worth your cash. It's almost like you have an autograph by Christian Dior.
What else can be said? That's right, I do love a glass bottle, especially when I've paid a large sum of money, my other favourite feature on foundation would have to be, the trusty pump. Thank you Dior for including a pump! I loath nothing more than having to pray that foundation doesn't spill over my hand; due to NO pump. But as you can tell by the lovely photographs, there is a pump.
Overall, this is a beautiful looking product, defiantly something to place on the mantelpiece.

THE PRODUCT:

Now onto my favourite segment! Does this product work? Well if you have oily skin, this product is going to melt into the skin; (in a good way) ... But if you suffer with dry skin, like myself, it's difficult to work with. BUT, if you prep the skin correctly, this is the PERFECT foundation. Before you apply this foundation, PLEASE exfoliate your skin, I can't emphasis this enough! If you don't, this foundation will cling onto your dry patches, and make you question why you even purchased this in the first place. And for the love of God, please prime and moisturise the skin ... Just please. Doesn't have to be the best; but please! After putting in all the hard work, it DOES pay off, this gives your skin such a glow, it looks so healthy, while giving you medium to full coverage. This product lasts around 6 hours, and then you do have to powder; just like other foundations.
Fundamentally, when I purchased this foundation I didn't get along with it, and I didn't see the point in prepping my skin ... But, it's such a beautiful foundation, it turned into my favourite, until I discovered my beloved YSL All Hours. But this is a close second, even replaced my Nars Sheer Glow, and we all know how much I loved that foundation.
Just to mention, the shade range is fantastic, I purchased the shade, Ivory 010-which is the lightest shade they had available. It suited me, it was slightly too dark, but when I apply concealer on top, you can't notice. I am extremely pale, so finding a foundation that suits my skin-tone is a challenge.

THE PRICE:

Yes it's Dior, it's going to be expensive ... But I love the product, and it's completely worth, £35. This is slightly more than my YSL foundation, which retails for, £33.50. Yes it's pricey, but if you weigh up all the benefits, you can really get your money out of this product. It took me a while to fall in love with this product; but it was completely worth it.

If you are curious to purchase this product, I'll leave a link below for you!

That is it for today's blog post, I hope you enjoyed the read, and please do tell me what you want to see next! I love you all so very much, stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! :) x x x

YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT HIGHLIGHTER

YSL Product Review

If you want to keep up to date with that I do on a daily basis follow me on my social media above, and I'll be sure to follow you right back :).

Good evening Little Ones! I'm back in business, I had to overcome serious anxiety and depression, just throwing it out there. But I'm ready to get back into blogging. I will write a MASSIVE blog post on why I was away for so long; but on the more positive side; here is a product review! I've already filmed a video on this; but I wanted to write about it as well, let's me get back into the swing of writing again.
Without any further elaboration, let's get on with it!

THE PACKAGING:

Golden bliss ... YSL hit the nail on the head when designing this product. Walking around owning a gold pen has to be an achievement? Just me? OK.
It's simple yet breathtaking, in this scenario little is more, and YSL rock that motto. Who needs over-accentuate; when  packaging like this exists? The gold and black appearance is extremely iconic; when I come across a product that has this design, it's evidently YSL; they've claimed the gold and black appearance; while keeping it innovative. I've never seen a beauty product this bold before ... It's courageous and creative. Additionally, I adore their emblem placed on the cap' it's sophisticated, and doesn't shove it in your face. I know other brands like to CAPITALISE their logo, and shove it in peoples faces. But YSL position it in such a way where it's delicate, without looking tacky.
On the other hand, in terms of functionality of the product, they again passed with flying colours, it's compact so you can take it on the go without having to worry that it's taking up too much space. Also, the fact that you click the bottom of the pen to obtain the product is genius; it makes me enjoy using the product so much more. The only criticism I have, is that you can't tell how much product you have left, (as you can't see); you have the play the guessing game. But apart from that, I can't fault it.

THE PRODUCT:

Now for the main event. Does this product work? Keep on reading Little Ones. I purchased the shade number 1 luminous radiance, the colour match is perfect, isn't too light or too dark. For me I want a concealer which is slightly lighter, if not the same shade as my skin, as I feel a really white concealer would make me look odd; (this has happened, and I didn't like it). This concealer pen gives me the coverage that I want, without washing me out, and gives me a healthy finish.
If you want a heavy duty product that covers every blemish, this is NOT the product for you, I'm a very natural kinda girl, so this suits my needs to the ground. It glides on really easily with the fine tip applicator, and blends in effortlessly. In relation to staying power, it's quite high, on an average day it lasts up to 8 hours, and that's without me applying powder throughout the day; if I did then it would definitely last a lot longer.
On the other hand, I feel like this would suit people with dry skin, I say that because I have very dry skin and it doesn't stick to my dry patches; (which shows that it doesn't suck the oil out of my face). That being said, I have no idea how this would react to people with oily skin? It might not be the product for you, but what I can say is that in my oily spots (my chin), it stays put really well, but does break up eventually).

THE PRICE:

This wonder retails for £25, is that a lot of money? You decide ... I'm not here to say what's too dear, if you believe that this is the product for you, buy it, if not save your money and find something that you think benefits you without spending £25. For me personally, YES, I have extremely dry skin, to find something that not only matches my skin perfectly, but doesn't cling to my dry areas is a God send. Will I repurchase this when it runs out? Hell yes! It's worth my money, does what I need it to do, why wouldn't I?
If you think this is the product for you, click the link below, it saves you from searching for it yourself.

Thank you for reading this blog post, if you want to see more product reviews then please do let me know. I will see you in another blog post soon! Stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! :) x x x

Highlighter make-up review

Sleek Highlighter Palette Solstice

DISCLAIMER: I have not been paid by sleek, I have bought several make-up lines from them, they produce really good products; it's just a matter of opinion.

 PACKAGING:

Unquestionably stunning. Everything about this palette is beautiful! I'm not much of a gold person, but this is impeccable, it really compliments the highlighters, and the highlighters compliment the gold. When you take this out of the black box you are blinded by the beauty of the packing. This is unlike sleek, they normally keep their make-up palettes in matte black; but this is completely different. Sleek have interjected their staple font on the front of the palette, the elegant swirls make it feel expensive, it makes me feel that I have put my money into something that not only looks beautiful, but high quality; as they have spent so much time and effort into making sure that it's ecstatically pleasing.
On the other hand, just like always Sleek always puts massive mirrors in their palettes, not only are they big but they are real glass. Some drugstore palettes use plastic instead of glass; this to me is cheap and nasty. Whereas Sleek have the upper hand, not only are they really affordable, but they puts higher end aspects like glass in their products, to ensure that their customers are getting everything they need in their make-up palettes. Also the pan size of the highlighters is generous, it may not seem wide, but they are very much deep; Sleek have managed to pack as much product as they physically can into this palette, and give you 4 choices at the same time. In addition to this, I love the way in which all the highlighters are separated, some make-up brands like YSL have merged their highlighters together, this to me appears messy. Whereas Sleek have made it neat and tidy, a small but very important factor to me, in my opinion.

THE PRODUCT:

Their are a total of 4 highlighters, which are as followed:
  • Ecliptic
This is the creamy highlighter, it's bursting with pigment and looks beautiful when applied to the skin. As seen in the swatches above, ecliptic appears to look like a dark rose shade, in the sunlight it shines beautifully and brings colour to the face instantly. For me this is perfect, simply because I don't use blush, this for me in my blush; it turns my face into a young rose; while also making me glow healthily. On the other hand, the wear power on this is insane! Because it's cream based it won't budge! I wore this for at least 8 hours of the day and it was still there when I had to take it off at night, I have constantly been complemented for wearing this, and also been asked where it was from. They were shocked when I said Sleek because they are a drugstore brand.
  • Hemisphere:Beautiful lilac powder, it's very shimmery and pigmented, and when caught by light it shines even brighter. When I use this I apply it to my cheekbones, simply because it adds colour to my face, and works brilliantly with ecliptic! I use the two of these products on my cheekbones, as they are similar colours they work well; this powder looks in the colour of ecliptic really well! On the other hand, I have tried this product on it's own, and it still has 6 hours of lasting power! The powder is such a nice consistency, it feels like butter melting, very easy to blend and to work with.
  • Subsolar:
If you want to SHINE then use this! Because the colour of this highlighter is pastel toned it shines brightly on it's own, when the sun catches this your face will be shining like the sun! It gives such a nice natural and healthy glow! I apply this on my forehead and my nose, simply because I want them to dazzle in the sunlight! Even when it's not sunny I want to be glowing inside and out. The texture of this highlighter is different from all the others, still fantastic; but it has a velvet feel, which is amazing for blending and mixing with other products. This highlighter lasts a very long time! This is placed on the oiliest part of my face, and it remains them until the very end of the day.
  • Equinox:
Bronze heaven! This is perfection if you want to bronze up your face, because this is what I use it for! If you are heading on holiday, or if  you are as pale as me and you need colour and a healthy glow, you need this in your life! It's so very beautiful, the colour payoff is fantastic, as portrayed in the images above. I also use this under my contour, it really sculpts my face and makes it glow effortlessly; it gives you the appearance that you just come back from holiday. Just like the other highlighter shades, it lasts very long, and it's like butter! It blends out very well, so if you think you have put too much on, you can blend it away with ease.
In summary these together highlight your features and go together so well! I use each of this shades almost everyday! I also adore the fact that Sleek have named them after space, simply because space in bright and magnificent, and it shines through in each of these highlighters.

PRICE:

I still can't believe how cheap these are, for all four shades and a beautiful looking palette it's ... £9.99! I know I still can't believe it! This is completely worth the money, they are highly pigmented, easy to blend and to work with, and works with all skin types and colours! I'm so pale and it brings out the best in my, I know my bestfriend is much darker than me, and this is so beautiful on her skin colour.
