DEPRESSION, EATING DISORDER AND RELATIONSHIPS:

Good evening Little Ones! Today has been utterly fantastic, everything is falling back into place, I may have managed to rekindle an old relationship, but we will see what happens in the near future.
As you can tell by the title, I have an unplanned question and answer, instead of traditional questions such as, how old are you, when is your birthday etc.
 I decided to dedicate these questions and answers in regards to my mental health, as I've received an abundant amount of questions ... I'm very open about my mental health, and I'm going to obligate an entire blog post on my story very shortly.
To ensure you are keeping up to date with my daily blog posts, click here to read more! Without any further or do, let's roll on the interview!

1. HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE CLINICALLY DEPRESSED?

I've been under the thumb of clinical depression for several years, to begin with I thought it was normal to feel nothing ... As well as suicidal thoughts, I assumed it was down to stress and not being able to sleep. But these nightmares consumed me until I nearly took my own life ... Enough was enough and I decided at the age of 17 to contact my doctor, of which they prescribed me a vast amount of medication ... Two years past and the nightmares I endured fed my insomnia.
I threw medication out of the window, and decided to talk to a professional therapist, it was fantastic to begin with; but my A-Levels took over, I had no time for myself, or my mental health ... I relapsed, nearly taking my life again.
I'm now 20, turning 21 in a matter or weeks, and I'm still the same, I feel like it's getting worse ... So I've been given the medication route again, this time I hope it works it's magic.
I knew that when I started to self-harm, something wasn't normal ... It sounds strange and completely obvious to something that doesn't suffer with depression, but alarm bells didn't go off immediately, until I looked at myself in the mirror, and realised what I was doing.

2. DO I HAVE AN EATING DISORDER?

Every time I see this question I cringe ... And I tell you why. I want to portray honesty here, and I find it hard to answer.
Yes and no ... I'm not ready to go into too much detail, it used to be much worse, but I feel like I have it under control.
Just like my depression, I have good days and bad days ... I don't make myself sick, but I do skip meals on a regular basis, and I don't eat as much as I should. And yes, sometimes I worry about the calorie intake, and some days I hate the way I look, but I'm not ready to address this probably.
I don't appreciate the, "you're so skinny comments" ... Makes me feel worthless.

3. HOW DOES YOUR ANXIETY AFFECT YOU DAILY?

Anxiety loves to appear at the best of times, take today for example, it took me 45 minutes to call an old friend, and patch up the remainder of our relationship. Before I pressed the call button, I endured several panic attacks, I had gotten myself into such a panic-ridden state, I was shaking ... And you could hear it in my voice.
Once the conversation started to flow my nerves faded away, I started to ramble away, (which is what i do when I'm extremely anxious), after the call ended shivers ran up my spine, and I began to shake, I was freezing cold, and couldn't contain my emotions.
On a day to day basis, depending on what I'm doing, it tingles my brain and stops me from communicating with people, hence why I shut down, and find it exceedingly challenging to build relationships; hence why I have a select amount of friends.

4. HOW DOES YOUR DEPRESSION AFFECT YOU DAILY?

Oh depression, why do you do this to me? Everyday I feel numb, I find it hard to find a purpose ... But if it wasn't for this blog, university and my dear friends and family, I don't think I would be here.
I've changed, and I'm hoping at some point in the near future it all makes sense, I can't talk to someone; but typing in hopes of someone being able to relate is all I ask for.
Hence why I'm answering these significant questions in the first place.
Depression latches onto my back, hoping I feed it fear, tears and blood ... It's constantly stalking me, my reaction is to bottle it up and pretend that it doesn't exist. Hence why I'm going back onto medication.

Right Little Ones, I think this is all I can answer for now, it's taken me a total of 2 hours to write this, and I was hesitant of posting, but this may help someone out there.
I hope you enjoyed the read, please share this around, we need to help people that are suffering in silence.
Remember to stay safe and stay tuned Little Ones! I love you all so very much! :) x x x

Good afternoon! Hope you are all well and enjoying your day :), I've whipped up another quick and easy recipe, I really hope you enjoy! You can use any fruit you like, but always used banana for the binding agency; if you use any other fruit it won't stick together.
If you want to know how to make these really healthy treats, look below and create :)

Ingredients

  • One banana;
  • 70 grams of pure oats, I used the ones from Freefrom;
  • 25 grams of Raspberries (or any choice of fruit you want)

STEPS ON HOW TO MAKE THIS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees;
  2.  Cut up your banana and place into a medium sized bowl;
  3. Take half of your oats and place into the same bowl as the banana;
  4. Take a folk and start mashing the banana and oats together;
  5. When the banana and oats are nearly formed together, add the remaining oats;
  6. Add the raspberries (or chosen fruit) to the mixture and stir gently, you don't want to break the raspberries;
  7. Put grease proof paper on a baking tray;
  8. Take your cookie mixture, make single balls, grab a folk and push on them to make cookie shapes;
  9. Put the cookies in the oven and bake for 20 minutes (make sure that you can pick them up without breaking them;
  10. ENJOY! :D

Why these ingredients?

Banana:
Banana's are enriched with potassium, this helps towards repair: tissue, cells and organs in the human body; this makes you feel energised and awake; this means that you don't need that coffee in the morning ;)
Alongside this, they are low in fat, (4% of their calorie intake is fat); this is great if you are on a diet and need to loose weight.

Raspberry:
Raspberries is one of the greatest antioxidant foods, it cleanses the body and makes you feel great inside. As well as being super delicious, raspberries can also prevent cancer, science studies have shown this.

Oats:
Oats is a long lasting food, this means that it feels you up at that moment in time, and slowly releases throughout the day; this meaning that you won't feel as hungry throughout the day. On the other hand, it's low in saturated fat; which means it will lower your cholesterol level; this means a healthier heart; due to the arteries not being clogged.

Thank you for reading this post, hope you enjoy and recreate, I would love to see what you make. Show me on my social media platforms.
Stay tuned Little ones :) x x x

Hello! Hope you are all doing well, I thought that it was about time to introduce you to my favourite vegan meal; this is what has saved me! It's super healthy and damn right delicious! I made this on the spot when I was super hungry and it goes well with the pasta I made here! I just hoped for the best. It turned out great! :D
It's really simple and easy to make, if you would like to know this secret, look below and create :)

Ingredients

  • 50 grams peas
  • 25 grams sweetcorn
  • 1 garlic glove
  • 2 shallots
  • chili spices or one chili (whichever you prefer)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 50 grams new potatoes (or whatever potatoes you want, I just picked these as they fit perfectly in my on-the-go tub)
  • Sabra roasted pepper hummus
  • chili sauce
  • Extra virgin olive oil
(You can make your own chili sauce and hummus, but I wanted to show you the simple way first, we don't want to make it too complicated yet) :)

With the measurements you don't have to stick to this exact amount, go by what your body is telling you :)

STEPS ON HOW TO MAKE THIS:

  1. Boil 300ml of water and place in pan;
  2. Put your potatoes in the pan and use the salt and pepper to season the water, (this leaves a subtle but nice flavour on the potatoes);
  3. Prepare you shallot and garlic, cut them up to the size you want;
  4. In a small pan, put boiling water in and place the peas and sweetcorn in there;
  5. Combine the garlic and shallots to the pea and sweetcorn mixture; add the extra virgin olive oil; chili spices, salt and pepper and stir;
  6. Place the vegetables into your desired container;
  7. Take out your potatoes and poke them with a folk, (they should be soft); drizzle the oil over them and shake in pan;
  8. Add the potatoes to the vegetables in your desired container;
  9.  Put the hummus and chili sauce on the side for dipping and flavour;
  10. ENJOY!

Why these ingredients?

Peas:
Peas are filled with Vitamin C, this helps build the immune system and makes it stronger over time, this will prevent you from feeling ill. As well as this, peas are also filled with B6, this will stimulate co-enzymatic activities, this entails protecting the immune system and having great effects on the metabolism, (speed it up).

Garlic:
Depending on how we prepare our garlic depends on how much nutrients we get out of it; this is why I have suggested either: cutting or crushing. This increases the enzymes within the garlic, these enzymes can prevent cancer.

Shallot:
Shallots is a great antioxidant, they also contain low fat saturation, this won't clog up your arteries, as it reduces cholesterol, in comparison to a normal red or green onion, this is so much better for your mental and physical health.

Thank you for reading this post, hope you enjoy and recreate, stay tuned little ones :) x x x

Vegan pasta recipe

Pesto, chilli and garlic pasta.

If you want to keep up to date with that I do on a daily basis follow me on my social media above, and I'll be sure to follow you right back :).

Hello!Another beautiful day in the UK, which means it's time for another blog post! :)
Since turning vegan I knew that giving up pasta was going to be extremely hard for me; but there is VEGAN pasta out there! It tastes just like regular pasta, it's faster to cook ,(always a bonus when you're really hungry) and better for you!
If you would like to make this delicious dish, look below and follow the easy steps.

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams (or base the measurements on how hungry you feel:
    Vegan pasta (I used freeform by Sainsbury's, it's: wheat, egg, milk and gluten free);
  • 1 tbs of pesto sauce (sacla italia is the brand I used)
  • parsley;
  • salt and pepper;
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • One garlic glove
Keep in mind! When boiling the pasta it can go from hard to soft in seconds, so when you think it's nearly done keep checking to how you want your pasta. In my opinion I love pasta al dente :)/

STEPS ON HOW TO MAKE THIS:

  1. Fill a pan with 300ml of already boiling water, (this speeds up the cooking process);
  2. Put 100 grams (or how much your stomach is feeling) into the pan of boiling water;
  3. Add salt and pepper to the pasta and put a lid on the pan (stir occasionally); make sure you keep an eye on it because it takes 5-7 minutes to cook through until soft. The heat setting on the hob should go to 4;
  4. Shop or crush your garlic;
  5. When the pasta is ready drain the water, place the pasta back into the pan and drizzle extra virgin olive oil, (This will stop it from sticking);
  6. Add the pesto sauce and garlic to the pasta and stir;
  7. Plate or bowl up, and then sprinkle parsley on top;
  8. ENJOY! :D

Why these ingredients?

Pesto:
Pesto is enriched with vitamins A and C, this helps boost your immune system, this will help fight infection, while keeping you fit and healthy. Whereas vitamin A is good is amazing for you eye health; it makes them stronger as well as being a great antioxidant.

Parsley:
Parsley has a huge amount of vitamin K, this helps builds bones and heals heart disease. in addition to this, parsley also has vitamin A, which as we already know is great for our eyes, and acts as a fantastic antioxidant.

Garlic:
Depending on how we prepare our garlic depends on how much nutrients we get out of it; this is why I have suggested either: cutting or crushing. This increases the enzymes within the garlic, these enzymes can prevent cancer.
Thank you for reading this post, stay tuned little ones :) x x x
